Veil Nebula
Sh2-103 · Supernova remnant in Cygnus · ~2,400 ly
The tattered remains of a massive star that exploded thousands of years ago, now expanding across the sky as delicate filaments of ionized gas. This frame traces the laced ropes of the Cygnus Loop — including the Witch’s Broom and the Eastern Veil — glowing in the light of hydrogen and oxygen.
